Who we are and what this policy covers

This Privacy Policy describes how Service Squared Corp., a California corporation (“Service Squared,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, retains and otherwise processes Personal Information in connection with:

We refer to the App and the Site together as the “Services.” “Personal Information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or is reasonably capable of being associated with an identified or identifiable individual.

Service Squared provides outsourced accounting, payroll, business intelligence and related professional services. The App is provided to businesses that have engaged Service Squared (“Clients”) and to individuals a Client has authorized to use it (“Authorized Users”). It is a business tool and is not offered to consumers for personal, family or household use.

Information that a Client or its Authorized Users submit to the Services, or that we process on a Client's behalf in performing our engagement (“Client Data”), is also governed by the engagement letter or services agreement between Service Squared and that Client (the “Client Agreement”). If this Privacy Policy and a Client Agreement conflict with respect to Client Data, the Client Agreement controls.

1. Information we collect

(a) Information you provide to us

(b) Information we receive in providing our services

In performing services for a Client, we receive financial, accounting, payroll, tax and operational information from the Client and from accounting, payroll, point-of-sale and other systems the Client has authorized us to access. Payroll information may include information about the Client's employees. We make this information available to the Client's Authorized Users through the App according to the access level the Client assigns.

(c) Information collected automatically

When you use the Services, we and our service providers automatically collect technical information such as IP address, device and browser type, operating system, sign-in and authentication events, the dates and times of access, and records of actions taken within the App. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot and audit the Services.

(d) Connecting a financial account

If you choose to connect a financial account, the connection is made through Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”). You enter your financial institution credentials directly into Plaid's interface; Service Squared does not receive or store them. Plaid then provides us with the account information you authorize, such as account details, balances and transactions. By connecting an account, you acknowledge that Plaid collects, uses and shares your information in accordance with the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. Connecting a financial account is optional, and you may disconnect it at any time.

(e) Information we do not collect

The App does not contain third-party advertising, advertising identifiers, or third-party analytics or tracking technologies, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. The App does not collect your precise location, contacts, microphone or camera input, or biometric information. The App accesses files on your device only when you choose a file to upload.

4. Data security

We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, use, alteration and disclosure. These include encryption of data in transit and at rest using industry-standard protocols, role-based access controls that limit access to personnel and systems with a business need, audit logging, and segregated storage of authentication secrets and third-party credentials. We will notify affected individuals and Clients of a security breach as required by applicable law.

No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for telling us promptly at support@servicesquaredcorp.com or (650) 960-7420 if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. Clients are responsible for telling us promptly when an Authorized User's access should be changed or removed.
